An annotative board was opened to the artist Mykola Bilchuk in 10 Vovchynetska Street
An annotative board was opened to the former head of Ivano-Frankivsk Art School for Children Mykola Bilchuk. It was placed at the house where the painter lived almost all his life.
The famous Ukrainian painter, the director of
Ivano-Frankivsk Art School Mykola Bilchuk together with his family lived in
this house. The opening ceremony traditionally started with the Ukrainian
anthem. A native of Khmelnytskyi region he was the teacher of Art and later the
head of Ivano-Frankivsk State Children's Art School. Over the years of the
artist`s work he has fostered a galaxy of famous artists and architects.
Mykola Bilchuk is also known as the author of
dozens of art works, but above all he loved to paint streets and buildings of
Ivano-Frankivsk.
An annotative board in 10 Vovchynetska Str. was
placed in the framework of the program "Ivano-Frankivsk – the city of
heroes,” initiated by MP of the VII convocation Ruslan Martsynkiv. He said the
figure of Mykola Bilchuk really deserved to be perpetuated because Mr. Bilchuk
was one of the patriots of our city.
By the way, the annotative board, which is set
at the house of Mykola Bilchuk, is in front of the chapel painted by him.
The building in 10 Vovchynetska Str. (where the annotative board is
placed) is also renewed. Due to the not indifferent residents of our city we
managed to make redecoration of the house façade where Mykola Bilchuk lived. On
behalf of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council I am thankful to Mr. Andrew
Milischuk (the head of the Painter house) for supplying the materials and Mr.
Ruslan Martsynkiv, the head of the Center of the City Development, for the
payment for the work of repair men.
